filip melo was born in the summer of 1986 in fritsla, sweden.
his childhood was very coloured by arts in diffrent shapes, such as painting, theatre and music.
in 2005, filip begun studying composing at gotlands school of music composition, where he took classes with henrik strindberg, per mårtensson, sven-david sandström, anders blomqvist and fredrik bergström. in autumn 2007, filip begun his bachelor in composition at the royale college of music in stockholm with pär lindgren and jesper nordin, among others. his third, and last year, he spended in copenhagen at the royal academy of music in denmark as an exhange student and studied with bent sørensen, hans abrahamsen, niels rosing-schow and hans peter stubbe teglbjœrg.
at present, filip is doing his masters in composition at the royale danish academy of music in copenhagen.
another passion of filip's is photography, though only as a hobby-photographer, which takes a central part in his life.
filips music has tried many paths, and has many left to take. his music has gone from a very expressive language to a more silent, and sometimes, fragile soundscape. questions he ask himself in music is often based on reflections on colour or lines in pictures. he trys to find connections between the visual arts and sounding art.
